2014 highlights!

2014 was another busy year for us at HPES. In October we celebrated our 10th Anniversary!

We are extremely proud to have been involved in the realisation of House of Vans London. A unique space under Waterloo Station, combining art, music, skateboarding and fashion.
This summer saw us return to Glastonbury Festival, Latitude Festival and Leeds Festival as well as Proms in the Park.

Party power

HPES Technical Solutions Ltd are proud to have been asked by Aggreko UK to assist with installation and carry out full testing and certification to BS7909 of an electrical system installed for a party held by one of the directors of the company.  A relatively simple distribution system was required to keep the lights on and the food hot.  To ensure that the event passed without a hitch, two generators were employed; these were linked via an AMF panel to ensure that in the event of a problem there would be no power outage.

Great Wakering Colts Under 12s

We are pleased to report that the Great Wakering Colts Under 12s football team whom we sponsor, won their last game of the season 6-2 to finish 6th in their division.  Congratulations to you all!!

HPES at Glastonbury, Latitude and Leeds 2013!

HPES are proud to have been selected to provide electrical inspection, testing and certification for three prestigious outdoor music festivals in 2013.

Our use of bespoke BS7909 certification software and established test procedures will make clear and accurate testing and reporting whatever the British weather throws at us!

Following Glastonbury’s break last year we are looking forward to having our teams back at Worthy Farm this summer.

Although this will be our third year at Leeds it will be our first at Latitude, and we are looking forward to a busy season.

Lightning Strike

Lightning Protection for Temporary Structures

From March 2013 we will be adding a new service to our event portfolio; Lightning Protection for Events.

We will be offering risk assessment, design, installation and testing of Lightning Protection Systems for Temporary Structures, this could include Stages, Speaker Towers, Camera/Control Positions etc.
This is often overlooked, and where it is considered, is generally overcomplicated by the lack of understanding of the nature of temporary events by Lightning Protection companies.

PTS - Personal Track Safety

To supplement our service offering, a number of our engineers have recently completed their PTS training. This means that we can now, where required, carry out works on Network Rail premises where passing trains may pose a risk. Full risk assessments and method statements are required which is a standard part of all our project planning.

Ice Rinks

As the festive season approaches, our teams have been busy testing power supplies systems for temporary Ice Rinks around the South East.  Always a popular pastime when the smell of mulled wine is in the air, it is important to remember that taking care applies to the electrical system as well as knowing how to behave on the ice…..!

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)

As another one of our staff gains their card, it's worth mentioning that all of the HPES Technical Solutions Ltd staff hold CSCS/ECS cards.  This shows evidence of safety awareness on construction projects and is required for entry to most sites, as well as demonstrating trade specific skills and training.

Work at Height Training

Our site staff have all spent the last three days renewing their IPAF, PASMA and Harness training.
We hold the following categories on our IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) Cards: Static Boom (1b), Mobile Vertical (3a), Mobile Boom (3b) Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)
PASMA Standard Operator’s Cards enable our staff to prove their competence in the building, use and dismantling of Mobile Access Towers, a common sight on work sites across many industries.
